    Principal Consultant

Joe has spent over 25 years as an internal and external management consultant and HR executive at companies ranging from small privately held firms to FTSE 500 global corporations, across numerous industries and in nearly every function, and he has led or participated in nearly 2 dozen transformations of major functions, sites, SBUs or whole businesses.  While Joe loves to tackle tough issues and help clients achieve their stated goals, his real passion is making sure that, along the way, they acquire new capabilities to take on the next challenge.  And his ability to bring that passion to bear has consistently left clients saying both “look what we achieved” and “look what we can do.”

Joe has worked and consulted across the globe in a diverse set of industries ranging from Professional Services, to Pharmaceuticals and Chemicals, to Automotive, to Fragrance & Beauty, and functions including HR, Learning & Development, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing / Operations, Engineering / Capital Management, R&D and Procurement.  He has extensive experience in enhancing Organizational Performance, Business Transformation and managing strategic change.  Internal and external clients have included E.I DuPont de Nemours, General Motors, Sasol, Chanel, AstraZeneca, Rhone-Poulenc, ICI-Australia, Johnson & Johnson, Solutia, Lexus Publishing, NOVA Chemicals, GlaxoSmithKline, and Providence Health & Services.

By working in complete partnership with his clients, Joe helps them diagnose, own and successfully implement significant strategic change, and in total, his clients have realized nearly $1b in revenue, cost and cash benefits, while implementing substantial process improvements, new organizational designs and culture change.

Throughout this myriad of experiences, one factor has shown itself to be the key to client success… ALIGNMENT.  Only when all of the key organizational elements - strategy, culture, leaders, people, structure, and processes – are aligned internally and with each other do organizations achieve their full potential.

Joe is known for evidence-based straight talk and a focus on results, while bringing humor, enthusiasm, curiosity, creativity, and a high degree of participation to his work.  Prior to founding A4P Consulting, LLC, he was an OD/OE leader at several leading global pharmaceutical companies and consulting firms, an HR executive and a management consultant.  And in a previous life, Joe was a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy.

Joe has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology, an MBA from Jacksonville University, and a Master of Science degree in Organizational Effectiveness, Development & Change (OEDC) from the University of Delaware.
